The Spot YYC
The Spot YYC is a Calgary-based off-snow training facility operated by SnowLab Athlete Project.
The facility provides year-round training infrastructure for freestyle athletes, teams, clubs, and community programs. Through trampoline training, dryslope rail features, airbag progression, and athlete development space, The Spot YYC helps athletes build skills, confidence, and consistency outside of the winter season.
SLAP’s role is to support the long-term operation, improvement, and accessibility of The Spot YYC so it can continue serving athletes and the broader snow sport community.
Facility Overview
The Spot YYC exists to provide athletes with access to meaningful off-snow training opportunities in Calgary.
The facility is designed to support freestyle progression, skill development, movement preparation, and team-based training in a controlled environment. It provides space for athletes to work on air awareness, rail fundamentals, trampoline skills, progression planning, and general athletic development.
Training Infrastructure
The Spot YYC includes a combination of off-snow training tools designed to support freestyle progression and year-round athlete development.
Current facility infrastructure includes:
- Trampoline training areas
- Dryslope rail features
- Airbag progression space
- Athlete development and movement preparation space
- Team training and supervised session capacity
The facility is intended to support safe progression, repetition, technical preparation, and skill development before athletes take those skills back to snow.
Who The Spot YYC Serves
The Spot YYC serves athletes, families, teams, clubs, coaches, and community programs that need access to off-snow training space.
Access is intended for athletes and groups operating within an appropriate sport, insurance, and supervision framework.
